About Our Training

"Excellent practical knowledge. I would highly recommend to others."
Kshamip Soni - Project Engineer - Watson Laboratories

Anyone can teach theory, but there simply is no substitute for experience. What sets Canadian Trainco apart is our ability to communicate that experience into the brains of our students. As one attendee told us at the end of his two-day training course, "I think I can go back to work now and teach the veterans a thing or two." Mission accomplished.

Unaffiliated and Non-commercial

Unlike some training experiences, you won't get a sales presentation at an Canadian Trainco seminar - all you get is an honest, commercially unbiased education. We do not engage in the practice of selling or promoting any other company's products or services, so you know that by attending one of our seminars, your time and money is well spent.

"I appreciate the fact that you are not pushing any products - just information."
Terry Blackwell - Maintenance Tech. Support - Clackamas County Facilities

High Quality, Interactive Presentations

From the start we demanded that all our presentations would be lively, attractive, crisp and clear. Our instructors use state-of-the-art computers, projection equipment and software to bring you a high quality visual experience. We mix hands-on training with video, presentations, lectures, round table discussions and demonstrations.

"No sleeping in this class!"
Tom Onuschak - Eastwood Printing

Student Needs Based Training

Each student comes to an Canadian Trainco course with particular needs and desires. From individual to individual and class to class, the student needs vary. That is why we don't teach to a curriculum, but rather to the needs of the students. Our instructors will determine the needs of the students before the class and direct the training to meet their needs. By rearranging modules, bringing in different material and spending time in the areas that the students care about the most, the instructor can present a class for the student's needs and not the needs of a curriculum.

"…very clear and precise, not over our heads."
David Daniels - Maintenance Supervisor - Hunting Oilfield

Real World

Because all of our instructors have "real world" experience, they understand what students need most in their training to perform their jobs at a high level. While theories and principles are discussed and a required part of any education, our courses put emphasis on the critical information students will need to go back to their facility the next day to work in a safer and more efficient manner.

"…great discussions of real on the job type situations."
Daniel Williams - Maintenance Supervisor - Mount Hermon Assoc.

Student Books for Maintenance Industry Students

For over 15 years, we've been watching the interaction between student and instructor in the seminar classroom. Students who were provided a traditional college or vocational type "textbook" rarely opened them. Instead they would take note on paper and ask the instructor if they could get a copy of his slideshow. This forced us to realize that "teaching from a curriculum" is different than "teaching to the needs of the student". No matter how much expertise has been written into a textbook, if a student doesn't read it, then that book has become useless. Canadian Trainco student books are designed specifically to meet the needs of Canadian Trainco students and have proven an effective way to communicate large amounts of critical information in a very limited time. Think of it as study notes and highlights from a textbook.

"Large volumes of information in an understandable manner"
Kelly Thomas - Electrician - Western Air Defense Sector, McCord AFB
